Jan 16, 2021 · Lowes review rated 3.0/5.0: Do not order Lowe's lumber for delivery You should never order lumber to be delivered from Lowes or anything to be delivered by Lowes for that matter. Lowes - Lowe's Lumber …
Both Home Depot and Lowe's will deliver heavy items from local stores, including fence panels, masonry, landscape rock, and lumber. Smaller items such as light fixtures, electrical parts, blinds, and tools are serviced from warehouse distribution centers and delivered by parcel post, through FedEx, USPS, or UPS.
Depending on the price of the product, a few cuts will be free, but they do reserve the right to charge you for additional cuts and will not cut any pieces of dimensional lumber shorter than 12 inches. Lowe's can plywood, most paneling and any lumber up to a 2x. Lowe's cannot cut 4x4, 4x6, or 6x6.
It really depends on what you’re looking for. Some items are cheaper at Lowe’s, others are cheaper at Home Depot. Overall, I’d say that Home Depot is probably cheaper for most of the items we’ve purchased, but not so much cheaper that we’d automatically choose one store over the other.
Lowe's also cuts wood for customers but also does so as a convenience. The service is free, but after a certain amount of cuts the store usually charges; this fee can be about 50 cents per cut . Recently the store put up signs stating that the staff will cut wood so you can fit it into your vehicle.
