The question I have is whether or not if it's worth paying more for latest equipments with eARC. I wouldn't mind paying a little extra on the receiver since I would enjoy having other features such as AirPlay2, Alexa support among other things. But it's the TV that's a little tough to swallow.

So it seems eARC is working, just not for stereo audio. My reciever is up to date and I am using a name brand 8K rated HDMI cable. The latest CX update, 3.11.10, which I got today doesn't fix the issue. UPDATE: LG released firmware 03.21.09 which has fixed the issue. I am now able to play stereo content over eARC.

Jan 07, 2021 · Some cheaper eARC soundbars don't seem to get great reviews, like the Sony HT-G700 or Samsung HW-Q60T, while something like the JBL 2.1 bar deep bass sounds like better audio quality for the money but with ARC only. Is eARC with better sound quality worth trying to extend my budget for?

1. Yes. Netflix currently passes Atmos via DD+ (not HD audio) using ARC. 2. eARC only featured on the X3500H and higher 2018 Denon models, so not on the Op's X1500H. I have a new LG C9 with eARC, but my old Denon receiver (AVR-2807) doesn't support eARC (or ARC for that matter).
